W-Nor Agreement 2020

New "W-Nor" agreement in regard to coordination of social security systems between the competent institution of Norway and the competent institution of Poland was signed 27.01.2020 and will be in force to 30.06.2020

Persons who are covered by the personal scope of the Basic Regulation, residing in Poland, and employed on board vessels registered in NIS (the Norwegian International Ship Register) shall, notwithstanding Article 11.4 of the Basic Regulation, be subject solely to Polish legislation.
The competent Polish institution (the Social Insurance Institution - Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych (ZUS)) on the basis of a document issued by the shipowner or an employment agency, stating the person 's identity, place of his residence and the period of employment, as well as on the basis of the required documents pursuant to the Polish provisions on the social insurance, submitted by the person concerned, shall issue forthwith for this person a document, stating the continued application of Polish social security legislation and the period for which Polish legislation shall apply. One copy of this document shall be sent to the person, and one copy to the competent Norwegian Institution (the National Office for Social Insurance Abroad).
